Here Come the Hawks. Olympic Blackhawks.

It’s day 1 of hockey in the Olympics. A horde of professionals crowd the rosters of 12 different countries, including Blackhawks’ Patrick Kane (USA), Jonathan Toews (Canada), Duncan Keith (Canada), Brent Seabrook (Canada, Marion Hossa (Slovakia) and Tomas Kopecky (Slovakia).

The U.S. is considered an underdog in Group A, and will play preliminary matches vs Switzerland today, Norway on Thursday and Canada on Sunday.

Canada, Russia and Sweden are three of the favorites.

I’m predicting a U.S. vs Russia final. Russia wins gold. U.S. silver. Book Canada for a disappointing 4th place finish. Sweden takes bronze.
