Mike Martz Takes High Road

Mike Martz says he’s “just stunned” by criticism from his former boss in St. Louis, Charlie Armey, who’s unsolicited advice to the Bears is that Martz would be an “absolute mistake” to hire.

“He’s a terrible … coach, and he would ruin that kid like he ruined Kurt Warner and drove him out of St. Louis. He’s the worst thing that could happen to any young quarterback.”

Martz may not be an official candidate

for Bears offensive coordinator yet, but reportedly has not been ruled out. And he says he gets along with Kurt Warner just fine.

Bears are rushing to line up a number of candidates for assistant coaches.
