Obama Going to Denmark

It’s official, President Obama will travel to Copenhagen to help Chicago lobby for the 2016 Olympics. The president’s participation will a major boost for Chicago’s bid and historic too. This will be the first time a sitting U-S President has taken such a direct role on lobbying for the Olympics. Mr. Obama will leave Thursday to join First Lady Michelle Obama and others from his administration in making the pitch Friday morning in Copenhagen. Those involved with the planning of Chicago’s final presentation to the IOC tell me the president and first lady will be the “closers” and will deliver a big finish to the city’s pitch.
