Sources: Obama Must Go to Copenhagen

Two highly placed sources within the Olympic movement – who spoke on the condition of anonymity – have told Newsradio 780 that President Obama’s attendance at the IOC session in Denmark is absolutely needed to clinch 2016 host city for Chicago. According to one of the sources, Mr. Obama’s participation in the final pitch to the IOC would probably win over the handful of votes Chicago would need to win the gold. The IOC president has predicted the election will probably be decided by a “couple of votes.”  The sources suggest those “couple of votes” may be undecided IOC members and some face time with the president would go along way to winning them over.
