Getting Ready for Copenhagen

With 14 days left to go until the 2016 host city announcement in Copenhagen, I am making final preparations for my trip to cover the proceedings.  One of the biggest headaches has been making sure that we have the technical ability to broadcast live from the venue where the candidate city presentations, IOC vote and announcement will take place.  The venue resembles McCormick Place which frightens me a bit (it’s not easy covering that much ground in a breaking news situation) but the IOC will produce the event much like the Academy Awards so that will hopefully make it easier. With any luck and successful planning, our efforts will ensure that you hear much of what’s happening in Copenhagen live on Newsradio 780 WBBM and wbbm780.com.
