Experts agree: America’s girls and young women are in trouble. Their self esteem is critically low and can have long term adverse affects on their careers and personal relationships. Shaun Robinson is seen each weekday on Access Hollywood, interviewing some of the most famous people in the world. As a member of the National Board of the non profit “Girls Inc.” Shaun, was troubled to discover that 7 in 10 girls had no one they could call on for support in crisis. She says the book was necessary and it is her hope that thousands of girls will read it and learn they are not alone, and that they matter.

I heard on the radio this morning that Restvale Cemetary, (also in Alsip, IL.), may be guilty of the same type of criminal practices as those of the Burr Oaks Cemetary in Alsip. There is another Blues legend that is buried there besides Muddy Waters. His name is Willie Mabon. I will be following this story closely as will the rest of my family. Young women of today must understand their current and future role in this city’s and this nation’s place in society. Reading books and speaking out will help, as will devoted women that “have made it” lending their time and energy. And, congratulations on 25 years.
